What is Giclée Printing?
Giclée is a sophisticated fine art printing process that uses advanced inkjet technology, archival pigment inks, and high-quality papers to produce prints of exceptional fidelity and longevity. Unlike conventional prints, Giclée prints are renowned for their vibrant colours, sharp detail, and resistance to fading, ensuring your artwork remains pristine for decades.
Why I select this printing process
- Archival Quality
- Prints designed to last for generations without fading or degradation.
- Vibrant Detail
- Exceptional colour accuracy and intricate detail reproduction.
- Fine Art Standard
- The preferred method for artists and photographers worldwide.
- Looking after it
- Please be aware that placing any painting or art print in direct sunlight will diminish colours over time!
Framing and mounting
Every print is supplied mounted. You can buy a print mounted on its own, ready to go into a frame you already have, or mounted and framed and ready to hang.
A second mount, showing as a fine line
To compliment The Whitby Art Prints, they have an added Double Mount. This gives the artwork extra depth and visual interest. The layered finish elevates the framed prints to premium quality gallery standard presentation.
How each print is finished
The mount is chosen to suit each piece. You choose the size, whether it is framed, and which frame colour you would like.
- The frames
- Black, white, oak, light oak or bare wood. Every frame is glazed with acrylic rather than glass, which is too fragile to ship, and comes with hanging fixtures fitted as standard.
- Other Artwork
- The earlier work is finished with a white single mount rather than the double mount used on the Whitby prints.
- Extra Large prints
- These prints are not framed due to the size and fragility of the product. They can be framed but only if the customer arranges to pick up the product from the picture framer in the Sheffield S8 area. Please contact me by email using the contact page for more information.
