About Me
I was born in Doncaster in 1969 and looking back, it’s difficult to remember a time when a pencil, pen or paintbrush wasn't in my right hand. It wasn’t until 1998 though that I enrolled at the local Art College to study a course in illustration and I graduated four years later with a Higher National Diploma.
Over the years my artwork has been inspired and influenced by many art movements and an eclectic mix of artists and illustrators, both past and contemporary. My portfolio reflects this with artwork that includes surreal paintings, graphic design, architectural illustrations and realistic technical drawings rendered in pen and ink and soft pencil. Most of the paintings I produce are created using acrylic paint on canvas board, it’s the medium I favour and specialise in. Composition, technical drawing and perspective theory always play an important role in the execution of my work.
I now devote my time and artistry to creating paintings and drawings of Whitby, it is what my long-term partner Joanne and myself refer to as “Our Happy Place”. By offering prints of the artwork I produce of this historic port allows me to share the scenic beauty amongst similar enthusiasts that have also fallen under its spell.
